Yoho National Park Itinerary

Kayaking on Emerald Lake

Welcome to the Denroi Journal.

If you are coming from my Instagram Account from a recent post, here is my Yoho National Park Itinerary:

Our home base: Golden Municipal Campground & RV – next to Kicking Horse River. Showers, great staff, and sites 17-33 are highly recommended. Booking is easy via phone or online.

Day 1

Emerald Lakeshore: 1 hr 20 mins, easy with minimal elevation. $100/hr kayaking is cheaper than Lake Louise and less crowded. Great restaurant with mountain views.

Natural Bridge: A short but breathtaking trail near Emerald Lake’s parking area. It’s quick but unforgettable.

Takakkaw Falls

Day 2

Takakkaw Falls: My favorite! An easy 30-minute trail with moderate elevation at the end. Absolutely majestic.

Laughing Falls: Moderate 8.5km trail (~3 hrs). Starts from Takakkaw Campground and is beautifully serene and less crowded.

Day 3

Wild Water River Rafting: $133/person for 3 hrs of adrenaline. Longer (5 hr) options include lunch. We did the short course to fit in one more hike.

Wapta Falls: 1 hr 15 mins, 4.3km moderate hike. Muddy if it rains but so worth it. Feels like a mini Niagara Falls and close to basecamp.
